Industry TipsDOs and DON'Ts of Modeling
  1. Always show up at least 20 - 30 minutes early to an audition and on set. Leave plenty of time for traffic jams, flat tires, lack of parking and anything else unexpected to insure you'll still arrive early. If you "no-show" or show up late to an audition or booking without a serious medical emergency as the cause, agencies can drop you quickly and clients may refuse to work with you again. Remember, always be 100% professional from the moment you walk onto the set.

  2. Have an audition outfit (including good shoes) ready at all times.

  3. Never sign a contract unless you are comfortable with its provisions.

  4. You always have the right to decline an audition. If you feel uncomfortable with a product you are asked to endorse do not let anyone pressure you into auditioning.

  5. Bring reading materials with you to auditions and on set as there may be delays. Never bring parents, children, spouses or friends with you if you are over 18 and over.

  6. Always have reliable communication whether it is an answering machine, pager, cell phone, etc. Check your messages at least twice daily and when returning a call from an agency, ask for the specific person who left you the message.

  7. Never pay an agency up front to represent you.
